Cleveland Regional Council of Science Teachers

Professional development workshop where you will:

  • Enhance your science teaching skills
  • Learn how to integrate literacy & science in your lessons

  • Become a member of the Cleveland Regional Council of Science Teachers (CRCST) and Teacher Resource Centers of Cleveland Botanical Garden or the Cleveland Museum of Natural History
  • Earn one hour of non-degree graduate credit from Ashland University (optional)

  • Introduction to Angel web interface used for the online portion of program
  • Introduction to the GEMS guide Buzzing a Hive

February 24 - April 18th

  • Online class assignments focused on the use of science activities with appropriate fiction and nonfiction reading material including GEMS units.
  • Additional hands-on and reading activities selected by instructor.
  •  Participants are online for 6 contact hours.

Wednesday, March 24th, 4:30-7:30 pm Cleveland Botanical Garden & Cleveland Museum of Natural History

  • Introduction to the GEMS guide Tree Homes
  • Tour and activities: Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Teacher Resource Center
  • Tour and activities: Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Teacher Resource Center

April TBD: CRCST Spring Symposium

Course concludes by May 1, 2010.
