The August Peak
Many people ask me what is the best time to be in the Hershey Children’s Garden. The correct answer is any day you wish to come. There is always something for the curious and young at heart (it’s funny how kids do not seem to mind the bareness of early spring or late fall).
However, if there was a month to pick I would pick the month of August. August is really the crescendo of activity in the garden. There is so much going on. The vegetable garden is coming to its fullest while the prairie and pond hit full bloom and height. Children and insects a like seem to zip and climb over everything. Already fall blooming material is setting itself to shine. I can not wait to see what happens next.
