Central Learning Farm

Built in 2006, the Central Learning Farm revitalized what was a blighted property at East 43rd Street and Quincy Avenue near the Lonnie L. Burten Recreation Center in Central neighborhood’s housing development.

This land was the former location of a school that had been razed and buried on site. In partnership with Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA), this Green Corps learning farm continues to expand and attracts residents of all ages in learning about the Green Corps program and the importance of urban farming and community gardening.

The Central Learning Farm employs an average of 12 student employees each year.
