Volunteering for Special Events

Great for teen volunteers, groups, families or those just looking to help out periodically, our annual or one-time special events provide hundreds of volunteer opportunities for those interested in getting a “taste” of volunteering here at the Garden. Further information and an application for our current Special Event is available here.

Special event volunteer opportunities include:

GLOW HOLIDAY SHOW – Share the magic of the holiday season by assisting families with gingerbread houses and shopping in Glow Village; boarding the Garden Train Express; and creating children’s crafts in Evergreen Adventures. Glow opens the day after Thanksgiving and runs through December 31st.

EGG HUNT – Help our youngest guests welcome spring at the Botanical Garden by hunting for eggs among the whimsical wonders of the Hershey Children’s Garden and participate in an eggs-travaganza of activities including crafts, games and taking photos with the Big Bunny himself! Egg Hunt is held annually on a Saturday in April.

BOO-TANICAL BASH – Boys and "ghouls" of all ages look forward to this annual family event. Costumed volunteers help with pumpkin-carving and preparation, running activity stations and craft tables, serving snacks and beverages, and of course--passing out "tricks and treats" (well, mostly treats) in the Garden. Boo-tanical Bash is held on a weekend in October.
