Vacant lots, so often seen as neighborhood blight, have the potential to be a key element of community revitalization. Holden Forests & Gardens Research Associate Sandra Albro led a five-year project creating green infrastructure networks on vacant lots in Gary, Indiana; Buffalo, New York; and Cleveland. Join Albro as she presents practical insights, successes, and challenges of the project in her new book, Vacant To Vibrant, being released on April 30 by Island Press. Landscape architects and others working in urban greening will learn new approaches for creating green infrastructure and facilitating more equitable access to green space.
